The Director of European Union and International Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Bulgaria and Priority Area Coordinator of Priority Area 11 took part in the meeting of EUSDR priority area coordinators that took place in Sofia on 1st of February 2018.
The meeting was held under the auspices of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Danube Strategy that will continue until October 2018. It was chaired by the National Coordinator for Bulgaria, Mrs. Denitsa Nikolova, deputy-minister of regional development and public works. Representatives of all eleven priority areas of the Strategy participated as well as the European Commission, the Danube Transnational Porgramme and Iteract.
The agenda included among others presentations by each of the PAs of the most important meetings, project results, initiatives, etc. that were implemented in 2017, the lessons learned and the plans for 2018.
On behalf of the DTP a review of the first call for project proposals under the Seed Money Facility was made, as well a short presentations on the DTP capitalization strategy and the reporting process under the signed subsidy contracts. Each of the sub-topics was followed by a discussion.
A discussion was also held on the necessity to amend the Action Plan to the Strategy and in particularly the defined targets and actions for each of the priority areas. As a next step the issue will be put on the agenda of the forthcoming National Coordinators meeting, to be held on 21 February in Sofia.
Up-dated information was provided on the procedure for the selection of the new Danube Strategy Point, the maintenance of the EUSDR internet pages, as well the forthcoming report on the implementation of the macro-regional strategy for 2018.
The national coordinator got the participants familiar with the main topics on the agenda of the 7th Annual Forum as well as the stage of play of its organization. The event will be dedicated to tourism as a prerequisite for economic development and will be held on 18 and 19 October 2018 in Sofia.
